Description
More than 31 serotypes of Echovirus with antigenic variation are known. Most of these viruses cause Meningitis or Meningoencephalitis. They can also cause Pharyngitis, Enteritis, Arthritis and Chronic heart disease. Antigenic cross reactions are seen with other Enteroviruses like Coxsackie A & B.
